Opportunity and a readiness for change led Dr. Frank. K. Hildebrandt to the Forest City in 1980. Now some thirty plus years later, with a successful practice and expanding family in tow, this proud husband, father and grandfather, will tell you no place feels more like home. His practice is a further reflection of that feeling.
Nestled in one of London's most warm and established neighbourhoods, Westmount Chiropractic is focused on making sure clients feel just that – at home. 'Dr. H', as he's affectionately known, takes care to ensure patients don't feel rushed, "I try to provide the type of care I would appreciate if the tables were turned and I was the person looking for help." This very often includes 'thinking outside the box' to address different symptom presentations when necessary. From its origins, Westmount Chiropractic has grown to offer and include a comprehensive selection of extended forms of treatment care for health restoration. Along with chiropractic, such options as massage therapy, reflexology and reiki are provided, so patients can meet most of their needs in one location.
His philosophy of all-encompassing care is rooted in a personal search that inspired Dr. H to become a chiropractor in the first place. After sustaining a major neck injury during high school gymnastics, he suffered years of chronic headaches and other symptoms that didn't respond to traditional medicine. Finally, following chiropractic treatment, Dr. H's symptoms, mobility and general outlook improved. He continued to receive chiropractic care for various other sports-related injuries, and saw further symptom and functional improvement.
When his then chiropractor suggested Dr. H apply to Toronto's Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), it was a no brainer. Dr. H was excited about the opportunity to offer others the same type of care that helped resolve his injuries, and to educate them about their health and lifestyles.
It comes as no surprise that even when off the clock, Dr. H continues to put his healing hands to use. An avid woodworker who enjoys tinkering around the house and doing "hands-on" repairs, Dr. H will tell you his only 'real' pain, is in being a long-suffering Montreal Canadiens and Miami Dolphins fan.
Ross has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since November 2000, after graduating from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) in June of 2000. Ross has been a member of the Registered Massage Therapist's Association of Ontario (RMTAO) since November 2000.
Since graduating and registering, Ross has worked in a chair massage business in a mall setting, in a body-building nutrition store as their onsite RMT, at Western University in their Student Sports facility, and at Westmount Chiropractic Office with Frank Hildebrandt, DC. Ross very much enjoys collaborating with other health-care professionals in order to best relieve clients' pain.
RMTs are required to take Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on an ongoing basis, in order to keep their licenses current. Since graduating, Ross has taken courses in and actively incorporates the following modalities into his practice: TMJ (jaw) massage, Kinesio Taping, Positional Release, Myofascial Release - Structural Integration, and Trigger Point Therapy. In the future, he would like to learn about and incorporate Trager Therapy, Feldenkrais - Awareness Through Movement, and Vodder's Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Recently Ross completed a course on Indie Head Massage. This consists of approximately 45 minutes of head, neck and shoulders, and finishing with a hot avocado oil head massage. An excellent treatment for sinus headaches and overall wellness.
Prior to becoming an RMT, Ross was a professional Classical Musician working at Western University as a Collaborative Pianist, Composer, and Chamber Musician. He met his wife at Western University, where she was also studying music. Outside of the university, he has been a piano teacher for adult learners; he has played the piano for 40 years, a passion inspired by his family's appreciation of classical music. He has also been a ski instructor, a sailing instructor, and a canoeing instructor. He balances his family responsibilities with a keen interest in the outdoors. Ross has found massage therapy to be the perfect blend of formal science and the practical ability to help people relieve their pain so that they can reach their full potential in life.
John Benoit is a Reiki Master, Registered Reflexology Practitioner, and Psychic Medium, practicing with the Westmount Chiropractic team since 2010.
Native to London, ON, John will tell you the motivation to pursue these fields was less of a choice and more of a calling. "This is the path that was set before me" he says, "and I followed." John has been practicing reflexology since 2011, reiki since 2004, and has been a medium his entire life.
John feels it's important for clients to understand that reiki and reflexology have been practiced in the East for hundreds of years, though the West has been slow to fully embrace their positive affect on health. The American Medical Association has supported this affect, and it's hoped that in time, more research and studies will be allotted to providing scientific proof. Over many years of practice, the proof for John has been in seeing the symptomatic relief experienced by his clients.
In addition to his practice, John enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, and crafting Japanese knives and swords.
